Once sweet with aging pears and autumn breezes

This luscious land is now concrete.

The breeze, is now a scorching heat.

We search for answers that will guide us.

Answers capable of offering relief, but dear lord

Artificial light has blurred the drinking gourd.

The height of city life is preventing night birds from taking flight.

Industrialism: Making it difficult for children to breathe.

Making it difficult for the oceans, the seas, the trees, the lakes, the honey bees, highways devaluing our community.

The two C’s: Convenience and consumption.

Consumes like a raging beast:

Devouring the Sun,

Digesting the Moon,

Salivating for Mars.

Genetically modified foods fed to our children before preschool.

Preservatives that don’t preserve life.

Ice glaciers melting at twice, three, four times their normal speed.

Alaska is becoming Hawaii.

Hawaii is becoming more “developed”.

Trump says, it’s normal.

Gretta shouts, shut up!

Which is broadcasted as entertainment,

Undermining the fact that the earth is changing.

Thank you for reading, share with your best friend.
